The event will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, 7:00 PM, at the Salem County Olde Courthouse, 104 Market Street, Salem.

The Salem County Board of Chosen Freeholders will recognize twenty-two county residents who recently enlisted in one of the branches of the United States Military during their annual Salem County Salutes our Armed Forces Enlistees ceremony.

Melissa DeCastro, Freeholder Director stated, “Enlisting into the military is a commitment to serve our country and protect the freedoms we enjoy. It is ultimately the greatest action of giving of oneself for others. We owe our gratitude and respect to these exceptional young men and women.”

Joseph Hannagan, County Veterans Affairs Administrator, will be the master of ceremonies. The ceremony will include music by the Salem American Legion Band and the keynote speaker will be William Berglund, a Vietnam Veteran of United States Army.

“Salem County residents are encouraged to join us to help celebrate these young men and women as they move forward to boot camp and their military assignments,” said Scott Griscom, Freeholder Chair of the Public Safety Committee. “Service in any public safety entity is a twenty-four hour job that requires commitment and dedication, our military personnel do this in the United States, and afar at which we are eternally grateful.”
