Route 40 lane closures beginning tonight for the next several weeks in Carneys Point, Salem County Route 40 eastbound to be detoured during construction (Trenton) – Route 40 eastbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured overnight for the next several weeks beginning tonight between North Game Creek Road/Courses Landing Road/CR 628 and Pointers Auburn Road/CR 646 in Carneys Point, Salem County.
Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, Monday, August 12, until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13, and continuing Monday through Thursday nights at the same time for the next several weeks, Route 40 eastbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured from North Game Creek
Road/Courses Landing Road/CR 628 to Pointers Auburn Road. The closure is necessary to construct a temporary culvert and demolish the existing culvert west of Pointers-Auburn Road, in preparation for replacement. The following detour will be in place:
Route 40 eastbound Detour:
- Motorists on Route 40 eastbound will be directed to turn right onto Courses Landing
Road - Turn left onto Pointers-Auburn Road, back to Route 40
Variable Message Signs will provide advance notification to motorists of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
