Route 130 daytime lane closures required for paving as roadway improvement project advances in Gloucester and Salem Counties Signed detour will be in place for several weeks.
New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced lane closures on Route 130 for milling and paving as a roadway improvement project advances in Gloucester and Salem Counties.
Beginning at 6 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, July 7, until 4 p.m., and continuing daily Monday through Friday for several weeks, NJDOT’s contractor, Richard E. Pierson Construction Co., is scheduled to close Route 130 northbound between Pennsgrove Pedricktown Road and Center Square Road in Logan Township, Gloucester County. This will allow the contractor to mill and pave the roadway.
The following signed detour will be in place:
Route 130 northbound detour:
- Motorists traveling on Route 130 northbound will be directed to turn right onto Pennsgrove Pedricktown Road
- Keep right to continue on Straughns Mill Road
- Turn left onto the ramp to I-295 northbound
- Take Exit 10 to Center Square Road/Swedesboro
- Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Center Square Road westbound
- Turn right onto Route 130 northbound
In addition, one lane is scheduled to be closed on Route 130 between Regional Drive and East Main Street in Penns Grove, Salem County during the same hours to allow the contractor to complete a full-box reconstruction of the roadway. One lane will be maintained with alternating traffic.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information. For NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NewJerseyDOT and our Facebook page.
