The Salem County Department of Health & Human Services announces its October 2018 schedule. The Walk-N-Talks will take place every Tuesday at 10 am in various parks throughout the county. Each walk will feature a topic presented by the Salem County Office on Aging and Disabilities Services. Move Yourself! Salem County indoor exercise program will take place every Thursday at 10 am at the Mid-Atlantic States Training Center (formerly known as Queen of Apostles), 391 South Broadway, Pennsville. Offered exercise classes include Core Strength, Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, and Strength.

The Office of Aging is offering free box lunches to seniors whom participate on Tuesday, October 2 and Thursday, October 25. To receive the free boxed lunch, the participant must be over 60 years of age, fill out a small registration form, and RSVP by 8:00 am the day before. Seniors must call (856) 935-7510, extension 8302 to register for the boxed lunch. The box lunch prepared by the Italian Kitchen of Pennsville meets the nutrition requirements of the State Office of Aging.

On Thursday, October 25, a presentation on “Medicare Open Enrollment” will be presented by Betty Myers from the Salem County Office on Aging and Disabilities Services. Please call (856) 935-7510 ext. 8302 to register for this special event.

These low impact exercises are great for a beginner, senior or disabled individual. The exercise program is part of the We Can! campaign to encourage residents with special needs to participate. We Can! exercises are on dates with ** before it Caregivers and support staff are welcomed to

attend. If a special needs resident requires transportation please contact the Salem County Office of Aging at (856) 339-8644 in advance.
