Salem County Office of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Services Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abusewill be hosting: “KNOCK OUT OPIOID ABUSE DAY”

October 6, 2019 – The Salem County Office of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services/ Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse will be participating in New Jersey’s fourth annual Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day. This is a statewide initiative that will mobilize the prevention community. Our goal is to raise awareness of the potential of dependency on prescribed pain medication and its link to heroin abuse rates.

Volunteers will be spreading awareness by leaving information on neighbor’s doorknobs on October 6th. Each volunteer will be given door hangers and other awareness materials in an effort to reach as many people as possible regarding the dangers of opiate abuse leading to heroin use. Many Salem County schools will be sending home awareness information for parents and caregivers as well.

For information on how to get involved please contact: Victoria Maurizio- Program Director at or 856-935-7510 ext 8449.
