Cultural & Heritage Commission
(Created by Resolution 72-54)
The Salem County Cultural and Heritage Commission is a public agency whose members are appointed by the County Commissioners to represent the cultural and heritage interests of the 15 municipalities of the County. The Commission serves all the people of Salem County while addressing the arts and historical communities, and seeks opportunities to involve minority and special needs constituents.

This week, we were able to hold the History Grant Workshop, but the storm and tornado warnings forced the Arts Grant Workshop to be cancelled.
2022 Arts & History Grant Workshops
Deadline for applications is October 27, 2021. Arts, history, educational and civic organizations, social service agencies and municipalities sponsoring arts and history projects are eligible to apply and are urged to attend.

Performance Venues – Covid-19 Relief Resources
The New Jersey Community Stage Relief Grant Program is a grant program that provides grants up to $300,000 to for-profit establishments that organize, promote, produce, manage, or host live events or performances by performing artists.

Shuttered Venue Operators Grant
Are you a theatrical producer, talent representative, venue promoter or do you operate a live venue, live performing arts organization, movie house or cultural institution and have been impacted by COVID-19? Register for SBA’s webinar on Thursday, January 14, at 3 p.m. ET, for a preliminary overview of the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program included in the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act.
Meeting are the 3rd Thursday of each month at 4:30 at Salem Community College in Carneys Point, NJ. The pandemic may cause meetings to be virtual. Check with Pat Federowic for current information.
