Ben Laury, Deputy Freeholder Director, announced Salem County will receive $2,365,000 in state NJDOT funding for resurfacing of County roads. “Our County is grateful to receive this state aid, especially in a time of tough economic and budget restraints. This funding will be sufficient to resurface approximately 7-8 miles of County roads,” stated Ben Laury, Deputy Freeholder Director.
The Transportation Trust Fund is an essential tool in maintaining and enhancing the County transportation system. These funds are available for eligible projects under County jurisdiction. Julie Acton, Freeholder Director stated, “The County attempts to maximize the use of Federal and State funding for road and bridge construction in order to minimize the burden on taxpayers.”
