Kevin Crouch, Clerk of the Board, has submitted his resignation to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in order to focus on other interests. Due to Crouch’s impending departure, the Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to announce Curt Harker as interim Clerk of the Board. Mr. Harker currently holds the civil service title of Deputy Clerk of the Board and he will fulfill the remainder of Crouch’s term.

As well as holding the title of interim Clerk of the Board, Harker will continue with his current duties as Open Public Records Act Custodian. The Clerk of the Board duties include handling all official correspondence, advertising, legal notices, organizing the meetings, as well as preparing and distributing agendas, resolutions, contracts, and minutes. The Clerk of the Board position is a Freeholder appointment.

Freeholder Director Julie Acton said, “Kevin Crouch served us well and took the lead to institute paperless meetings, saving a tremendous amount of work. Our decision to have Mr. Harker serve in his deputy title brings someone who possesses knowledge of the Clerk of the Board office responsibilities and will provide a seamless transition while we begin our selection process. He is very organized, works well with the public, and understands the seriousness and importance of the office.”

“Curt has nearly 22 years of county government service, lending his vast knowledge of government operation, experience, and proven ability to assist the public. We are confident he will successfully fulfill this role and enhance the services provided by the office,” stated Dale Cross, Deputy Freeholder Director.

The Board of Chosen Freeholders will begin their search and anticipate appointing a new Clerk of the Board early January 2017.
