The next meeting of the Board of Chosen Freeholders of Salem County will be held September 7, 2016, at 7:00 PM at the Pittsgrove Township Municipal Building, 989 Centerton Road, Pittsgrove NJ, with a 6:00pm Workshop Meeting prior.

Did You know.... Who the Oldest Female Veteran is in Salem County?

The Salem County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Veterans Administrator Joe Hannagan recognized Beatrice Coleman as the 2016 Oldest Armed Forces Veteran Member in Salem County. She joined the Freeholders at the August 3 meeting to accept her certificate.

Director Julie Acton stated, “Every year it is a great honor to present these certificates to our Oldest Armed Forces Veteran’s. We want our veterans to know we are grateful for their service, and it is particularly special to have the opportunity to honor someone who served 73 years ago in World War II. Every individual has a story and I am glad we were able to honor Mrs. Coleman for heroism in our country’s history.”

“We are so proud to honor one of our citizens who volunteered and answered the call in our country’s time of need to serve in our US Military,” stated Veterans Administrator, Joseph Hannagan.
