Freeholder Director Julie Acton attended the Penns Grove Carleton School today and discussed "What the duties of a Freeholder." She explained what the seven freeholders responsibilities included. Director Acton stated, "I see a lot of potential leaders in the room and I am hoping my visit today will plant a seed because one day you will be our community's future leaders." She provided a visual of all the departments they fund and oversee. Director Acton had one student hold up money as she stated, "We take this job serious because your parents hard earned money is being entrusted to us, the seven freeholders, to fund these programs. They vote for the person who will spend their money like they would and we must be very conscious of that fact." Kudos to the Carleton School positive inspiration messages hung in the school!
